The NYSCA volunteer coach training program is designed to sensitize volunteer coaches to their responsibilities and hold them accountable to the NYSCA Coaches’ Code of Ethics Pledge. Our purpose is to monitor our members and their behavior and we have specific Coach Accountability and Enforcement Policies for all NAYS chapters to follow when one of our members has broken the Code of Ethics in his/her capacity as a coach. When there is a complaint lodged against an NYSCA member coach, the local NAYS chapter director is asked to take the appropriate steps to help resolve the complaint. If there is not a local chapter, the NYSCA National Accountability Committee would address the complaint. IMPORTANT: It is not the position of the NAYS to get involved in local league disputes. NAYS can only take action against an NYSCA member coach as it pertains to his/her compliance with the NYSCA Coaches’ Code of Ethics Pledge in his/her capacity as a coach.
