RECOGNITION AND REWARDS

Excellence Award winners will be honored at the annual Youth Sports Congress, which takes place this year on Nov. 16-19 in Orlando, Fla. Along with two complimentary registrations for the Congress, winners also receive:

  • In-kind contributions from Excellence Award sponsors to be used for the support and enhancement of their youth sports program
  • A custom award to display at their facility
  • National, state and local recognition, including in the publications of Athletic Business and the National Alliance for Youth Sports
  • ...and more!

APPLICATION PROCESS

The preliminary Online application is reviewed by the Excellence Award Committee, which is comprised of National Alliance for Youth Sports and Athletic Business staff. Selected applicants are invited to participate in the Final Round Process that includes two mandatory elements – a more thorough application/review of the program and a completed survey component (finalists are provided a link to a survey to have as many parents, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and anyone connected to their programs complete the online questionnaire).

Those who qualify for the Final Round are judged on several criteria, including what the organization does to educate their administrators, volunteer coaches, game officials and parents, in addition to how well they demonstrate that they embrace a child-centered recreational sports philosophy that is aimed at providing a positive and safe experience for all youth. Organizations that submit the mandatory final elements but do not win the Excellence in Youth Sports Award are considered Excellence in Youth Sports Finalists.
