Registration for annual Youth Sports Congress under way

Registration for the eighth annual Youth Sports Congress – the nation’s premier event for youth sports and recreation professionals – is now under way.

The Congress, conducted by the National Alliance for Youth Sports, will be held in conjunction with the Athletic Business Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla. from Dec. 2-5.

A unique aspect of this year’s event is there are two distinct tracks – one featuring Congress sessions and the other featuring sessions for the Academy for Youth Sports Administrators, where attendees can earn the Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) credential.

Topics covered at the Academy include youth sports philosophy; professional development; mission statements; policies and procedures; volunteer management; child abuse prevention; parent management; conflict resolution; insurance and risk management; inclusion of children with disabilities; and evaluation and marketing of programs.

The many guest speakers and various networking opportunities are just a few reasons why the Congress is the preeminent venue for all youth sports professionals to attend. In addition, the Coach and Parent of the Year awards will be presented, along with the prestigious Excellence in Youth Sports Awards. Congress delegates also receive access to any Athletic Business Conference seminar, the keynote presentations, reception and Expo.

The Congress is open to all park and recreation professionals, military youth sports directors, representatives from YMCA/YWCA, Boys & Girls Clubs, private league administrators, key officials of international sports and Olympic federations, and other significant administrators who are involved in youth sports.

For more information click on the Youth Sports Congress tab on the left hand side, or email yscongress@nays.org.

Continue to visit www.nays.org in the coming months as updates on Congress sessions and speakers will be announced.
