What is Global Gear Drive?
The Global Gear Drive program was created to put sports equipment in the hands of children around the world who wish to take part in quality sports activities but currently are unable to due to shortages of equipment. NAYS is collecting donated youth sports equipment and distributing it to these impoverished regions of the world.
What type of equipment is acceptable?
New and used equipment is appreciated. We ask that the used equipment be in decent condition with plenty of life left.
Is equipment from any sport ok?
While our initial focus is on soccer, basketball, and baseball, equipment from any sport will be accepted.
Where is the equipment going?
Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. Other regions of the world will be added as the program develops.
What about shipping?
We ask that you ship your equipment to NAYS Headquarters in West Palm Beach, FL. From there NAYS will review your contribution and distribute it to one or more of the nations currently receiving assistance from the program. After you ship the equipment, mail us a copy of the shipping bill/invoice and we'll reimburse you by check for the entire amount. When all is said and done, that means
NO COST TO YOU.
Can I help promote the Global Gear Drive program in my local league, school, or church?
Yes. Please contact NAYS at 800-688-KIDS for more details.
If I am unable to donate equipment at this time, is a cash donation accepted?
Yes. The Sammy Wilkinson World Memorial Fund has been established to provide funding to the Global Gear Drive and Game On! initiatives. Your gift will be used to make a leveraged purchase of new equipment and also pay for the transport of getting this equipment to the children around the world.
