The National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) is pleased to announce the release of two new Coaching Youth Soccer instructional videos that are now featured in its onsite and online training programs.
The training videos – Teaching Skills and Drills for Kids 10 and Under and Teaching Skills and Drills for Kids 11 and Older – were filmed with former Major League Soccer player Jeremie Piette, owner of Global Fútbol Training.
These two soccer trainings are part of NAYS’ ongoing efforts to provide volunteers with the best coaching information available to help them be a positive influence on all their young athletes.
“We are committed to ensuring that today’s volunteer coaches have the very best training and resources at their disposal,” said John Engh, executive director of NAYS.
The lead instructor for both videos is Piette, who has an impressive background working with, teaching and coaching youth.
Along with his extensive background as a player, where he played professionally in 17 countries, he is a well-known youth soccer expert. He coaches and trains youth players in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area and consults with elite high school and collegiate players around the country.
“When it comes to teaching the great game of soccer to children and teens and the wide range of fundamentals and skills needed to fully enjoy the sport, Jeremie does it as well as anyone,” Engh said. “His passion for the game and helping others is inspiring, and the knowledge he shares in these trainings will be incredibly beneficial to both first-year coaches as well as those with years of experience.”
Teaching Skills and Drills for Kids 10 and under features information on teaching kids the fundamentals of the game: dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting, defending and goalkeeping. Also covered are a variety of drills that coaches can take their players through to help develop and enhance these important fundamentals.
Teaching Skills and Drills for Kids 11 and Older builds on those fundamental skills, while also covering heading. Throughout the training fun and engaging drills are shared that coaches can use to help their players build their skills, bolster their confidence, and take their game to the next level.
Since 1981 NAYS has been America’s leading advocate for positive and safe sports for children. More than 4 million coaches have completed its training programs. NAYS coaches have access to an array of innovative tools and resources to enhance their coaching skills, including free online trainings on coaching kids with mental disorders, bullying prevention, abuse prevention, and much more.
