Four high-quality days of powerful sessions at our 21st annual Youth Sports Congress will be punctuated with an inspiring presentation by professional soccer player Chelsee Washington of the Orlando Pride.
The marvelous midfielder’s closing session – CULTIVATING PERSONAL CONFIDENCE – will send attendees home with valuable insights to bolster confidence in their professional and personal lives.
This year’s Youth Sports Congress takes place Nov. 16-19 in Orlando, Florida and you can register here.
Washington’s session will also be featured in our Virtual Youth Sports Congress, so if you are unable to make it to Orlando be sure to register for our Virtual Congress which enables you to view a variety of terrific sessions from the comfort of home whenever it’s most convenient.
Washington was a standout at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where she was the Mid-American Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year during her senior season. She was also the school’s first-ever player drafted into the National Women’s Soccer League.
When she’s not causing havoc for defenders on the field she’s sharing her knowledge and insights off the field to help younger players navigate the complexities of competing.
“Confidence is huge,” Washington says. “It’s truly everything.”
Washington works with young athletes through her 90/10 Performance Co., a specialized mindset strategy program tailored to young female soccer players ages 13 and up.
“What I’ve learned through a lot of mental work, and what I try to tell younger kids is if you rely on your confidence to come from every time a coach tells you ‘good job’ or when you score a goal then it’s going to fluctuate a lot and you’re going to feel a rollercoaster of emotions all the time,” she says. “Confidence has to come from yourself – it can’t depend on anybody else.”
The Youth Sports Congress is a comprehensive educational experience designed specifically for youth sports administrators. Registration includes attending the NAYS Youth Sports Congress and the AB Show, plus general registration includes earning (or updating) the Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) credential via the Academy for Youth Sports Administrators.
