UNSINKABLE SPIRIT earns four prestigious book awards


National Alliance for Youth Sports Founder Fred Engh’s new book – Unsinkable Spirit – is receiving rave reviews throughout the publishing industry as it recently received four prestigious awards.

It was named an Honorable Mention Readers’ Favorite Book Award winner as well as a 2015 Hollywood Film Festival Honorable Mention selection.

More than 300 authors and guests attended the Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards Ceremony in Miami, Fla., in which Engh’s book was recognized in the non-fiction Memoir Category. Attendees at this annual event came from Australia, India, England, Switzerland, Peru and Brazil, among many other countries.

The book was also named Winner of the Best Memoir Award at the Florida Book Festival as well as the prestigious Mom’s Choice Awards®.

The Mom’s Choice Awards® are globally recognized for establishing the benchmark of excellence in family-friendly media, products and services. Unsinkable Spirit was recognized in the Inspirational/Motivational category.

Unsinkable Spirit is an inspirational memoir unlike any other. It details Engh’s amazing rise from Depression-era poverty on the shores of Eastern Maryland to confront a series of life-changing events that ultimately led him to creating the National Alliance for Youth Sports, which has been the nation’s leading advocate for positive and safe sports for children for more than 30 years.

Engh shares his passion for making a difference in the lives of children through the power of sports, and takes readers on an incredible journey through his life that has been filled with incredible success while continually overcoming obstacles at every turn.

All proceeds from the sale of Unsinkable Spirit support the Sammy Wilkinson Memorial Foundation, in memory of Engh's grandson.
