Coaching Youth Baseball & T-Ball Training

The NYSCA Coaching Youth Baseball & T-Ball section is one of the most comprehensive resources for volunteer coaches involved in youth baseball programs.

During the sport-specific portion of the NYSCA training program baseball coaches view the Coaching Youth Baseball & T-Ball training video, which focuses on how to go about teaching many of the key fundamentals of the game to youngsters. The video is designed to help you, regardless if you are new to the sport or have coached for many years, enhance both your knowledge and teaching skills so you are better prepared to help guide every player on your team to a safe, fun and rewarding experience.

To enrich your learning experience, the NYSCA Coaching Youth Baseball & T-Ball section includes the use of video instruction for demonstrations. These live-action segments are unique to our program, and they provide you with the most effective and exciting way to learn. Topics covered in this video include:

  • Hitting
  • Infield Play
  • Pitching
  • Outfield Play
  • Catching
  • Bunting
  • Running the Bases
  • Warm-up and Conditioning
  • T-Ball
  • and much more...

The video also features great commentary and personal experiences shared by well-known and highly respected professional and collegiate coaches, as well as insights from some of the nation's leading youth sports educators, including the following:

Bill Ripken - Co-Chairman and Executive VP of Ripken Baseball, Inc. with his brother Cal Ripken, Jr. He is also a Maryland Sports Hall of Fame and 12-year major league veteran who played with the Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers.

Adam Christ - Assistant Coach for the Minnesota State University Mavericks baseball team and former General Manager of the Ripken Baseball Academy during the filming of this video.

Andy Levine - Coach for the Ripken Baseball Academy

At the conclusion of the Coaching Youth Baseball & T-Ball video there is a 10-question exam featuring both True and False and multiple choice questions. Each question must be answered correctly to complete the training and obtain your membership. The questions are explained in full detail within the video and text provided and after submitting your answers you'll have an opportunity to redo any incorrect responses.

Unlike other coaching courses where you are required to write your own notes and draw your own diagrams, NYSCA has done all the work for you! The manual that accompanies our online clinic is a valuable resource for coaches at any level.

The manual is printable in PDF format for enhanced graphics.
